Something about my name instead: Prashanth, pronounced "pruh-SHAANTH". In Sanskrit it means "tranquil, calm, quiet, composed, indifferent"

Links to psychology journals, and a few journals have made a few articles available online for free. Good enough for a while.

Hindu Wisdom - quotes on hinduism 341-360

Swami Akhilananda: "Hinduism is such that, whatever you can ask, there's always an answer."

I was explaining to someone today the various reasons I have some sort of an allergy to Hindu Philosophers and Hindu Philosophies. I quote Swami Akhilananda this time, but the speaker is irrelevant: this is something many people who have grown up in a Hindu environment have realized. The sentiment expressed in this quote covers one of the several reasons I have the allergy.

Wachet Auf, Ruft Uns Die Stimme!
What can I say? One of the most beautiful compositions, ever!
Though I find Koopman's playing a tad too fast.
Doris Lessing - Interview

[Adam Smith] - So you leave it to the reader to decide what mission they find in your writing?

[Doris Lessing] - Well you know the reader does anyway. The reader makes up his or her mind and the writer goes along with it. There's nothing you can do, really, if they get something that you've written absolutely wrong. You're not then going to issue a sort of statement saying "Oh dear, that's not right at all. What I really meant was something else." No, no, you write, and then they make what they want of it.

Hint: Don't tell your kids that they are. More than three decades of research shows that a focus on effort -- not on intelligence or ability -- is key to success in school and in life

The play, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, by Tom Stoppard.

Well, this is the entire text, apparently.
